WORKING TO EXPAND THE COOPERATION OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF MONGOLIA

       H.E. Mr.Erdenebulgan Juujaa, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia had a meeting with Yanik Weingand, program manager of the Peace and Human Rights Division of the Swiss Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 30 June 2026.

        During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the results of the SDC-funded project “Safeguarding Human Rights and Democracy through Constitutional Court Reform” (SHRD), which was completed in May of this year, and further cooperation.

      Chief Justice Erdenebulgan Juujaa emphasized that the project, which was implemented with the support of the Swiss Confederation, achieved substantive outcomes and was of great importance. He also highlighted that this project made a valuable contribution to expanding and strengthening the international cooperation of the Constitutional Court, enriching the context and scope of cooperation, and also had an important impact on improving the knowledge and skills of the staff of the Constitutional Court.

      In addition, during the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the possibility of the launching of the project “Strengthening constitutionalism and the protection of fundamental rights in Mongolia” developed and submitted by the Constitutional Court.

       Mr. Yanik Weingand emphasized the importance of this new project, which is in line with the Swiss Federal Government’s policy of strengthening democracy, and expressed his support for the admission and implementation of the project.
