The Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic organized an International Conference on “The Establishment of Constitutional Justice in New Democracies,” on June 16-18, 2025, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The official opening ceremony of the international conference began with a video greeting from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Sadyr Japarov, who emphasized the important role of independent constitutional justice in ensuring sustainable democratic development. The President of the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Emil Oskonbaev, delivered a welcoming speech, acknowledged international partners for their participation, and noted the importance of jointly finding ways to address modern challenges.
At the opening of the international conference was addressed by Mr. Bayasgalan Gungaa, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia, Mr. Mederbek Satyev, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Elvira Azimova, Chairperson of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Mirza Abdusalomov, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Miroslav Šeparović, President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Alexander G. Gesmundo, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines (video presentation). Also, Mr. Boldbaatar Byambadorj, Justice of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia, attended this international conference.
After the opening ceremony, a plenary session began, during which representatives of the constitutional courts of Croatia, the Republic of Korea, Romania, the Russian Federation, and other countries delivered presentations. The discussion discussed issues such as the development and transformation of constitutional review bodies, the protection of human rights and freedoms, and the introduction of modern technologies into judicial practice. A meeting of Members of the Eurasian Association of Constitutional Review Bodies was also held to discuss expanding cooperation.
